Retreats 2009
We invite you to immerse yourself in a healing and transformational week of yoga and ceremony. Our work together will incorporate yoga, chanting, meditation, nutrition, writing and process work, council circle, vision quest, and sweat lodge ceremony. Nestled within 8,000 spectacular high country acres of the Blacktail Ranch, we will be supported by the energy and spirit of this ancient ceremonial valley. In this sacred, safe setting, you will be compassionately challenged to heal and grow physically and spiritually.
Each day we will meet for morning chanting, meditation, yin yoga and an asana intensive. Each afternoon we will gather to further open the doors to your inner exploration with writing and process work, experiential exercises, and visioning. As the sun lowers in the sky we will transition into a nurturing restorative yoga practice. After dinner, we close the day with ceremony. You will also have the opportunity for a day of fasting and spending vision time on the land, and cleansing in the Sweat Lodge Ceremony. Whether you’re a beginner or advanced yoga practitioner, Cheri and Heather welcome you (you don’t have to “have it all together” to come!) We only ask that you arrive with a willingness to work honestly at your edges. This will be a chance to examine yourself deeply, to heal trauma (both physical and emotional) and to transform old, unworkable habits and patterns that limit your yoga and your life. Thus, clearing the way for you to more fully embody your spirit!

Join us in the beautiful coastal setting of tropical Mexico for a week of yoga, relaxation and rejuvenation. Barbara and I are excited and eager to offer a lovely vacation retreat in a spiritual environment, with healthy food and yoga. This retreat will be simple and quiet, a time for people to not be busy with anything. We will offer one morning class of meditation and yin yoga, one afternoon class before dinner of power/vinyasa flow, and sometimes a meditation session after dinner. Most of all, we want to offer an opportunity for people to be quiet, surrounded by the beauty of the jungle and ocean, and to have some space with a minimal schedule. There will be plenty of down time to explore the local culture, surf and hike, and to simply enjoy lightening up.

Weekend Workshops - Yin & Yang Yoga
Workshop sessions typically include Yin and Yang Yoga; weaving the healing powers of these two very different styles of yoga into an integrated, balanced practice. Yin Yoga is a quiet practice that encourages the body/mind to open as each pose is held passively for several minutes. Yin Yoga targets the deep, dense connective tissues; the ligaments and fascia, releasing resistance while activating the flow of prana through the core of the body. The Yang practice of deep breathing, heat, and intense pose sequences in the Forrest Yoga style, deepens our edges of self-discovery while cultivating strength, flexibility and energy flow. Yoking these mutually supportive yoga styles creates an opportunity for healing the stresses, trauma, and their underlying conditioning, that block our potential and limit our lives. Come experience the freedom of being fully at home in your body: energized, open, powerful and graceful.

The Core Connection
All Levels
We often define our “core” as the body’s abdominal area. The core of our being, however, connects the floor of the pelvis to the top of the skull, and houses the 7 main chakras - our energy/wisdom/information centers. We will use focused breathwork and asana to clear numbness and stagnation from the body’s core, while toning and revitalizing the organs and central pathways of blood, lymph and nerve energy. Guided meditation and writing process will help access and integrate the wisdom and intuitive knowledge of your chakras. Infuse your core with your spirit and walk your life’s path with strength, openness and grace.
